JONATHAN SACKS DIRECTOR OF NATIONAL SPORTS COMMISSION, GBENGA ELEGBELEYE.

The presidency has also reportedly sacked
Gbenga Elegbeleye, the director general of the National Sports Commission (NSC).

According to a report by Daily Trust, this decision was made by President Goodluck Jonathan. At the same time, no official reason had been given by the evening of April 20, 2015, Monday.

It is understood that Dr Tammy Danagogo, the sports minister, appointed Alhassan Yakmut, a director in the NSC, as the acting director general of the commission on the same day.

Gbenga Elegbeleye is an experienced PDP politician and sports administrator. He was also a legislator in the House of Representatives.

Gbenga was born in Akoko North-East, Ondo state, on October 1, 1964. He was appointed as the DG of the NSC on May 15, 2013, for a five-year tenure.
