The Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources has warned people of the state against the sale and consumption of toxic meat called ‘Ikpa Ebola’ which it says can cause
cancer and liver problems.
‘The skin meat which is five times thicker than ordinary skin meat is injected with a toxic substance called formalin for preservation. Formalin is capable of causing cancer and liver problems and other diseases’, he said.
He advised the public to watch what they eat or drink, stressing that a likely cause of most untimely deaths could be the consumption of toxic food or drinks.
