SUSPECTED PDP THUGS ATTACKS BUHARI AND OSIBANJO'S WIFE.

The convoy of Hajia Aishat Buhari, wife of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential Candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, was on Monday 16 March in Ilorin, Kwara State capital, attacked by
suspected Peoples Democratic Party’s, PDP, thugs.

Briefing journalists on the incident, the state Chairman of the APC, Hon. Ishola Balogun-Fulani, said no fewer than 10 vehicles were vandalised around the film house on Emir’s road in the metropolis.

Hajia Buhari, who was in the state on Citizens Outreach Town Hall Meeting, had earlier paid a courtesy visit on the Emir of Ilorin, Alhaji Ibrahim Sulu Gambari, shortly on arriving the state capital and was heading to Government House to pay a similar visit to Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed when the ugly incident happened.

The APC Chairman alleged that the plan to attack the convoy was hatched and executed by a chieftain of the PDP and his cohorts, adding that “we have it on good authority that two of the PDP thugs had been apprehended by the Police.”

Mrs. Buhari was in the company of the wife of the vice-presidential candidate, Mrs Oludolapo Osinbajo; Kwara State First Lady, Mrs Omolewa Ahmed and wife of the immediate past governor of Kwara State, Mrs Oluwatoyin Saraki among others on the way to a women sensitization programme in Ilorin.

According to Fulani, “a worrisome development took place today( yesterday) during the visit of Hajia Aisha Buhari, the wife of the APC presidential candidate as her convoy was attacked at the Film House along Emir’s Road, Ilorin. About 10 vehicles were vandalized.”

He recalled that APC had repeatedly reported to the police and other security agencies about the plan by the PDP to cause violence before, during and after the forthcoming general elections.

He thus called on the police and other security agencies in the state to be alert and call the PDP in the state to order.

Contacted, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Salihu Garba confirmed the development assuring that the command would investigate the incident.
