WEIRD: ETHOPIAN LADIES INSERT PLATES INTO THEIR LIPS TO MAKE THEM LOOK MORE ATTRACTIVE (SEE PHOTOS)

One man’s food they say is another man’s poison. In the Ethopian Suri tribe, after girls have attained puberty a large plate is inserted into their lips to make them look more beautiful.
The piercing of the lips and inserting lip plate is a very strong culture in Suri. The bigger the lip plate, the more cattle the woman is worth.
Till date most of the citizens do not know how the culture of lip plates came to be. However, a theory states that it was used to prevent slave owners from taking their girls as slaves.
