Tolu Oniru, popular on-air-personality who nicknamed herself ‘Africa’s media Mogulette’, has shared her experience about matters of the heart when she fell in love with a man who only wanted to be her friend.
She disclosed that she meet the young man during her final year of university and after a few random conversations about course work, he asked her out.
Their first date was amazing, and after about a month of seeing each other a few times a week, she was in love and was almost certain he was ‘the one’.
After about a week or two, she bravely brought up the ‘where are we’ issue. His exact words were ‘I really like you Tolu, but I’m not looking for a relationship right now’. Her heart was shattered from that moment and had to be strong to pick up the pieces, she said.
She claimed she learnt a valuable lesson from that experience, if a situation isn’t giving you what you deserve, just have the courage to move on.
